I want to set the record straight, cardio kickboxing, is not kickboxing! Sure, cardio kickboxing can help you lose weight, feel better, and it's fun! I get it! But, it isn't kickboxing. Boxing, in itself, is a phenomenal science. In a kickboxing class, there is a considerable about of dedicated to footwork, shadow boxing, and heavy bag work. We also incorporate many other methods of developing attributes that will improve your flexibility and stamina.

This is what makes us different. We want you to be able to hit hard and with proper form. This will give you the courage to act, and the skills to back it up; if you were ever forced into a situation where you may have o defend yourself.

We use an 8-count numbering system - learn this and you will be able to grasp our methodology for combination development in no-time. All techniques/counts are given from the orthodox/left leg forward position.

1 - Jab

2 - Straight right cross

3 - Left hook

4 - Right hook

5 - Left uppercut

6 - Right uppercut

7 - Left shovel hook

8 - Overhand right

That's it! It is that simple. A combination is merely a string of numbers. For example:

1,2,1,1 - left jab, right cross, left jab, left jab

1,2,3,2 - left jab, right cross, left hook, right cross

We also have names for some of our combinations. For instance, Catch, Bully, Turtle 2, 5-Beat, Doubles, Rally, and Pressure. We have about a dozen standards combinations, as well as, "The Base" system, from which we can transition in any combination or sets of combinations.

For example: The feeder (mitt holder) would give out a command, let's say she/he chooses

2

4

Base

This translates to

2 - 2,3,2

4 - 6,5,6,5,2

Back to base

This save a lot of time, and it is a language we all can understand.

See you in class!
